About This Book
The Jungle Book is a collection of stories written by Rudyard Kipling and first published in 1894. The book is set in the jungles of India and features stories about animals and human characters.

The most famous tales focus on Mowgli, a boy raised by wolves, who learns the laws of the jungle with the help of Baloo the bear and Bagheera the panther. He faces dangers such as the fierce tiger Shere Khan. Other stories in the book include โ€œRikki-Tikki-Tavi,โ€ about a brave mongoose, and โ€œThe White Seal.โ€

The book explores themes of survival, friendship, loyalty, and the balance between nature and civilization. Although often considered a childrenโ€™s book, it also contains deeper messages about society and identity. The Jungle Book remains one of Kiplingโ€™s most popular and widely read works.

RUDYARD KIPLING
Author
Rudyard Kipling (1865โ€“1936) was an English author and poet, best known for his stories and poems set in British India. Born in Bombay (now Mumbai), he spent much of his early life in India, which deeply influenced his writing.

Kipling is famous for works such as The Jungle Book, featuring the character Mowgli, and the novel Kim. He also wrote well-known poems like โ€œIfโ€”โ€ and โ€œThe White Manโ€™s Burden.โ€ His writing often explored themes of adventure, empire, duty, and courage.

In 1907, Kipling became the first English-language writer to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature, recognizing his powerful storytelling and influence on literature. Although admired for his literary talent, his views on British imperialism have also sparked debate. Kipling remains one of the most significant and widely read writers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
