About The Author
T. S. Eliot
T. S. Eliot
Author
T. S. Eliot was an influential poet, essayist, and literary critic, born in 1888 in St. Louis, Missouri. He later became a British citizen and spent much of his life in London. Eliot is considered one of the leading figures of modernist poetry, known for his innovative style, complex imagery, and exploration of fragmented contemporary life.

His most famous work, The Waste Land (1922), reflects the disillusionment and spiritual emptiness of post-World War I society. Eliot’s poetry often combines classical references, multiple voices, and shifts in time and perspective to convey the complexities of modern existence. Other notable works include The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock and Four Quartets, which explore themes of time, memory, and redemption.

Eliot also made significant contributions as a critic, shaping literary theory in the 20th century. He won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1948, and his work continues to influence poets and writers worldwide.
