Dear Debbie

Freida McFadden is one of those authors I keep coming back to, and this book is another reason why. It is an easy, fast read that pulls you in quickly and keeps the pages turning. Her writing style is straightforward and addictive, making it hard to stop once you start. The ending really sealed it for me. Just when you think you know where things are going, she delivers a twist that is both surprising and satisfying. I loved how it wrapped up and it left me smiling at how cleverly it all came together. I had the audiobook with the impressive cast of narrators Julia Whelan, January LaVoy and Scott Brick. The author hit the jackpot with these narrators. I highly recommend the audiobook version. Debbie is a newspaper agony aunt until she loses her job, her life starts spiralling out of control. This is a lighthearted fun revenge story. Debbie is certainly an interesting character! I couldn’t say likeable, but I didn’t judge her actions as I was too busy chuckling. It’s great the way the tongue in cheek draft Dear Debbie letters with her quippy answers match her current predicaments. For me this is Freida’s funniest book, The Devil Wears Scrubs books are light and entertaining, but this is in a different league. Freida is constantly evolving as an author keeping her writing fresh and entertaining. This is one of my favourites.
